Who can volunteer?

If you are over the age of 18 with a genuine interest and passion to assist people with an intellectual disability and are eligible to hold a current Positive Notice (Blue Card) you are eligible to volunteer.

Do I need previous volunteer or disability sector experience?
|
No previous experience is necessary, we provide you with all the information, training and support required. Upon commencement you will be matched and placed with experienced volunteers who will initially support and mentor you. There is also as much support as needed from your service Coordinator.

Is there a cost to volunteer?
|
No, there is no cost to volunteers on any program. All admissions, activities, meals and expenses are covered by Life Stream.

How often do I have to volunteer?
|
We require volunteers to volunteer once every six months.....but you're welcome to offer your assistance more often.

How do I become a volunteer?
|
As easily as calling 3278 0958 or email: [email protected] to make contact with a Service Coordinator who will provide you all relevant information and invite you into Life Stream for an initial introduction and information chat about volunteering with Life Stream Australia. Then, should you wish to progress further with your application you will be invited to participate in an Induction Session.
